Renovations and extensions to the north east and south west of an existing bungalow situated in a mature garden at the edge of Birr, Co Offaly.
The proposed extensions are tied together by a concrete cornice that wraps around the existing house, supported by painted blockwork pillars. The two elements form a modern colonnade which include new rooms at the front and side of the existing Dining Room. At both corners, two spaces defined by the cornice become patio areas covered by a timber pergola to create a transition space from the living accommodation and the mature garden.
